CULIACÁN, SINALOA. – With the goal of building a competitive roster to fight for the championship in the 2026-2027 Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico season, the Tomateros de Culiacán front office officially announces the signing of right-handed pitcher Tony Rossi.

Born on July 7, 1999, in Orlando, Florida, the 26-year-old hurler began his career in U.S. college baseball in 2019. After completing his collegiate career in 2024, he was signed by the New York Yankees organization, launching his professional development within the New York franchise's Minor League system.

Rossi arrives in the Sinaloan capital following an outstanding 2026 campaign. Highlighted by high strikeout numbers and success in high-leverage situations, the right-hander posted a 6-1 record across 46 relief appearances.

Over 52.2 innings pitched, Rossi delivered a 2.22 ERA, allowing just 32 hits and 13 earned runs while issuing 14 walks and striking out 71 batters, limiting opposing hitters to a .172 batting average against.

The new guinda reliever features an aggressive arsenal to dominate opposing lineups:

  • Four-Seam Fastball: Tops out at 96 mph

  • Sinker

  • Slider

  • Changeup

With the addition of Tony Rossi, Tomateros bolsters its relief corps, joining Anthony Gose and Seth Shuman as foreign imports set to anchor the guinda bullpen staff.
