HERMOSILLO, SONORA. – Tomateros de Culiacán completed their participation in the 2026 Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico Draft, held this Wednesday, July 1st, in Hermosillo, Sonora. The team made twelve selections divided into two categories: eight in the Domestic Draft (Mexican players) and four in the Foreign Draft, the latter featuring heavily experienced pitchers.

Pitching was the top priority, as ten out of the twelve "Guinda" selections were hurlers. Highlighting the domestic talent is right-hander Zayeck Pacheco, who already belongs to a Major League organization after signing with the Philadelphia Phillies.

With their first-round pick, the Culiacán organization selected Pacheco, a 16-year-old pitcher out of the Pericos de Puebla academy. The domestic pitching staff was completed by left-hander Jesús García (Academia Éxodo, Ensenada), Ander Guzmán (Bravos de León, Guanajuato), right-hander Eduardo Reyes (Academia RMBA, Monterrey), César Uscanga (Diablos Rojos del México), and right-hander Diego García (Leones de Yucatán). Position-wise, the "Guindas" selected outfielder Abdiel Zavala and second baseman José Almeida, both from Acereros de Monclova. The drafted homegrown talent spans across six states in the country.

In the foreign player category, Tomateros opened by selecting Canadian right-hander Noah Skirrow, the wins leader in the 2026 Mexican Summer League (LMB). They also added Major League experience with Cuban left-hander Roenis Elías, who pitched in MLB for the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, and Washington Nationals.
