Nicolás Sánchez scored two runs and drove in two more, Yael Cervantes added two hits, but a four-run second inning defined the outcome. Mexico Red moves to 1-1 in the tournament.

TEPIC, NAYARIT. – The Tomateritos de Culiacán, representing Mexico Red, fell 10-4 to Mexico Green in their second game at the 3rd Caribbean Kids Series, closing out Day 3 of the tournament at Coloso del Pacífico Don Alejo Peralta Stadium.

Mexico Green opened the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. With one out, César Alexis Godoy singled and advanced to second on a defensive error before Ian Roberto Espinosa launched a two-run home run to left field.

The second inning brought four more runs. Ian Emmanuel Chávez led off with a walk, and back-to-back singles by José Fernando Ballesteros and Álvaro Daniel Santa Cruz loaded the bases. A walk to Godoy forced in a run, a wild pitch brought home Ballesteros, and Espinosa drove in another with a fielder's choice grounder. Another wild pitch, with the bullpen already on the mound, capped off the rally to make it 6-0.

The Tomateritos cut into the deficit in the third. Nicolás Sánchez drew a walk, stole second, and with two outs, Yael Alberto Cervantes hit an RBI double to left field to bring him home.

Mexico Green extended its lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Jesús Alejandro Solís reached on an error, and Brayan Ulises Estrada walked before both executed a double steal. Chávez followed with a single to center field that was misplayed on another error, allowing two runs to score, and Santa Cruz added an RBI single.

Sánchez reached on a walk again in the fifth and scored on a wild pitch. The home side responded with one more run in the bottom of the frame.

The Tomateritos wrapped up the scoring with two runs in the sixth, as Sánchez delivered a single to drive in the final two runs of the night.

Luis Ángel Ríos took the loss. Out of the bullpen, Kristian Yael López provided two scoreless innings, giving up two hits while striking out two.

For Mexico Green, starting pitcher Alberto Guadalupe Virgen earned the win after tossing four innings and allowing one run. Espinosa finished with a home run and three RBIs, while Godoy went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.

In the day's opening matchup, Panama defeated Puerto Rico 15-0 via super mercy rule, backed by a perfect game from Alams Rodríguez.

The Dominican Republic remains in first place with a 2-0 record, followed by Mexico Green (2-1). Mexico Red and Panama sit at 1-1, while Puerto Rico rounds out the standings at 0-3.

This Thursday, the Tomateritos will face Panama in the second game of the slate, following the Puerto Rico vs. Dominican Republic matchup at 2:00 PM. Mexico Green has a bye.

The tournament continues through Sunday in Tepic, with the Tomateritos remaining in contention with a 1-1 record.
