The Tomateros de Culiacán kicked off their series at Chevron Park with a convincing 10-2 victory over the Cañeros de Los Mochis. The spotlight of the night belonged to the youngest of the Verdugo dynasty, who finished the game with five runs driven in thanks to a home run and a clutch single.

With this performance, Rosman became the first second baseman to drive in five runs for Tomateros since Ricardo Serrano accomplished the feat on December 11, 2012, at the legendary Estadio Ángel Flores. On that historic night, Serrano produced seven RBIs, including two home runs—one of them a grand slam—in a 9-1 Guinda victory over the Algodoneros de Guasave.

The home run also carried a special family touch. The last time Rosman Verdugo had gone deep was on November 27, 2024, in Culiacán against the Sultanes, a game that until last night was his only career multi-RBI game in the league. This time, the story was even better: his brother Luis Roberto was on base and scored on both occasions, crossing the plate on both the home run and the RBI single.

With this breakout game, the young second baseman off to a strong start to the campaign, leaving a significant mark in the club's record books in what is just his third season with the team.
