Bringing seven seasons of Major League Baseball experience with the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs, Robert Gsellman joins the Tomateros de Culiacán bullpen for the upcoming 2026-2027 Liga Mexicana del Pacífico Banamex season.
CULIACÁN, SINALOA. – The right-handed pitcher, who also brings experience in Mexican summer ball with the Bravos de León, arrives in the Sinaloan capital backed by an outstanding winter performance in the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League of Puerto Rico.
During his 2025-2026 campaign in Puerto Rican winter ball, Gsellman posted impressive numbers: logging 21.1 innings across 21 appearances, recording a stellar 2.53 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP. Additionally, he struck out 17 batters, held opposing hitters to a meager .200 batting average, and ranked second in the league in saves, converting 7 out of 8 opportunities.

With Gsellman's arrival, the squad led by manager Lorenzo Bundy adds a proven high-caliber right-handed arm to handle the high-stress late innings.
