Culiacán, Sinaloa. – Cuban outfielder and "Guinda" standout Orlando Martínez took a major step toward the Major Leagues after being promoted to the Texas Rangers' Triple-A affiliate, the Round Rock Express, putting him just one step away from the Big Show.

Martínez began the 2026 season with the Frisco RoughRiders, the Texas Rangers' Double-A affiliate, putting up impressive numbers. In 60 games, the outfielder tallied 64 hits, 20 doubles, one triple, three home runs, and 36 RBIs. Additionally, he posted a stellar slash line with a .298 batting average, a .370 OBP, a .442 slugging percentage, and an .812 OPS.

Red-hot June: Orlando’s batting average soared to .356 during the month of June, establishing himself as one of the top hitters for the Frisco RoughRiders.

Following a brilliant winter season with the Tomateros de Culiacán in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico, Martínez caught the eye of Major League scouts and signed a contract with Texas. After seeing action in Spring Training, the Cuban native was assigned to Double-A, where his consistency ultimately earned him the call-up that brings him one step closer to his MLB dream.
