CULIACÁN, SINALOA. – With their sight firmly set on the start of the 2026-2027 Liga Mexicana del Pacífico Banamex season, the Tomateros de Culiacán Baseball Club maintained its intense work rhythm, completing another rigorous preparation day after reporting at 8:30 a.m. at the ISDE facilities.
On-field activities began with routine physical conditioning before transitioning to mound work with a live batting practice (Live BP) session. Pitchers Robert Gsellman and Ricardo Estrada threw against Guinda hitters during this drill, while the rest of the pitching staff focused on coverages and defensive fundamentals from the rubber.
Later in the morning, the infield practiced defensive coverages and executions against bunt situations. To wrap up the workout session, hitters took complete rounds in the batting cage aimed at sharpening contact ahead of their upcoming exhibition games.
With these high-intensity training sessions, the squad led by manager Lorenzo Bundy declares itself ready to travel to Guamúchil, where they will make their debut this Wednesday in the traditional Copa Gobernadora, taking on the Algodoneros de Guasave at 5:00 p.m. at Alberto Vega Chávez Stadium.
