In a tightly contested battle that kept the excitement high until the final out, Tomateros de Culiacán fell 4-2 to the Algodoneros de Guasave.

The visiting side scored a run in their first offensive opportunity; however, the home team answered back immediately in the bottom of the inning courtesy of Luis Roberto Verdugo's hot bat. The older Verdugo brother launched an impressive solo home run deep to center field to tie the game at one, marking his second homer of the series and his third of the season.

In the bottom of the second frame, Lorenzo Bundy’s squad struck again. Édgar Robles stepped up in the clutch, lining a solid RBI single to left field to bring home Culiacán's second run and keep the pressure on.

The game also featured a significant pitching milestone, as reliever Sasagi Sánchez made history by reaching 200 career appearances in the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico.

Although the Guinda squad never stopped fighting and pushed for the win until the final stretch, the Algodoneros managed to hold on for the victory. Culiacán will kick off a new road series this Tuesday when they visit Ciudad Obregón to take on the Yaquis.
